ROUDNICE Glazes
The Pd range consists of coloured, glossy, semi-opaque to opaque fritted glazes, coloured with ceramic stains and metal oxides. They contain no lead, antimony or arsenic oxides or other hazardous substances. They are intended for functional ceramics. The recommended firing range for colour stability is 1000–1100°C. They can be fired up to 1150°C, although colour intensity decreases, particularly in pink, brown and yellow shades. They can be used on white- or coloured-firing bodies with a coefficient of linear thermal expansion CTE α20–500°C > 60 x 10-7K-1; bodies with a lower expansion coefficient may be prone to glaze crazing.
The glazes are fully intermixable. Adding white zirconium glazes from the Pw range produces delicate pastel shades. Application methods: pouring, dipping and spraying. The fired glazes provide a suitable surface for overglaze colours, decals, gold and platinum preparations and lustres.
