Mayco Engobes

Ceramic engobesWe are replacing Duncan with a new range of richly coloured engobes from another American manufacturer, Mayco.These high-quality liquid underglaze colours provide complete coverage of the underlying body. They are available in a broad palette and withstand firing temperatures up to 1255°C, with some shades suitable for higher temperatures. The suspension comes in 59 ml wide-neck jars for easy brush dipping.

EngobesMayco offer an excellent alternative for potters who find decorating colours or glazes too flat, insufficiently vivid or difficult to keep sharply defined, while traditional engobes seem too matt, rustic, subdued or earthy. Mayco engobes suit fine detail, precise areas and clear, vivid colours. Some intense colours, such as red, yellow and purple, are difficult to achieve with full coverage and without other influences except by using richly pigmented engobes.
