Raku kilns are easy to operate. The V2A stainless steel casing and lightweight firebrick lining make the kiln robust and long-lasting.

Inspection openings are provided to monitor firing. Heat-up times are remarkable, with very low energy consumption. This is achieved by a well-designed, extremely quiet and precisely adjustable 30 kW burner, developed specifically for these kilns, with no pressure loss in the burner.

The Raku accessory set contains

• digital thermometer up to 1150°C (battery-powered)
• NiCr/Ni NL 130 thermocouple up to 1150°C (13 cm long)
• hose connection including pressure regulator and pressure gauge for connecting to a gas cylinder
• atmospheric Raku burner, 30 kW, propane

The kiln separates into three equal sections for easy transport. Lightweight firebricks without insulating fibre provide durability and avoid fibre-related concerns. A gas strut makes the lid easy to open, a standard feature of Rohde kilns.
